City of Stillwater Bicyclist and Pedestrian Ad Hoc CommitteeClub member Sara Siems serves as a member of the City of Stillwater Bicyclist and Pedestrian Ad Hoc Committee (BPAC), which focuses on ways to advance transportation opportunities for all residents of Stillwater. BPAC reviews all city plans, documents, and standards to prepare recommendations for the city council. Sara will be joined by Keith Reed, resident bike ambassador and OSU Extension horticulture educator. They will share the importance of being a community that utilizes all modes of transportation infrastructure, not just those for motorized vehicles, including positive economic impacts in Stillwater. The city has developed a short video on the topic of multi-modal transportation. Rotarian of the day: Chris Norris

Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation and MuseumOur own Dr. Floyd Branson, national vice president of the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation will talk about the history of the Palomino Horse from its beginning through history and its relevant impact on the US and, especially, Oklahoma. He will also touch on their museum in Tulsa and the foundation's mission of preserving the past, present and future of the Palomino Horse and to those who have dedicated themselves to maintaining and perpetuating the breed. The foundation was created as a mechanism to make contributions that are meaningful and make a positive impact on the Palomino Horse, their owners and to those who made significant sacrifices to preserve the Palomino legacy. The Saville CenterKelsey Proctor, executive director of The Saville Center, a child advocacy center that provides a warm and caring home environment for child victims of abuse. Children of all ages go to The Saville Center to speak with specially trained forensic interviewers about their experience. The Saville Center brings together all the professionals and agencies needed to offer services: law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, mental health, medical and advocacy. Acute flaccid myelitis (AFM)Acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) is a rare but serious, polio-like condition. It affects the nervous system, specifically the area of the spinal cord called gray matter, which causes the muscles and reflexes in the body to become weak. Of the 193 U.S. cases reported in 2018, 2 were in Oklahoma. Kelli Rader, regional director of the county health departments for Kay, Noble, Pawnee, and Payne Counties, will provide an update. Engineers Without BordersOur program this week will feature the return of Dr. Paul Weckler and student representatives of the OSU chapter of Engineers without Borders USA. EWB-USA is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students. Dick T. MorganDick T. Morgan, a founding member of Stillwater First Christian Church, was an Oklahoma representative in the US Congress during the early days of statehood. During his congressional career, Morgan introduced and gave the first speech on the floor of Congress in support of legislation that became the Federal Trade Commission. In 1913, he proposed an amendment to the Federal Reserve bill that would have established a bank guaranty fund - twenty years before the FDIC was established in 1933 as part of the New Deal.
